Cast announced for the Flemish production of Dear Evan Hansen
The Story of Dear Evan Hansen
The popular Broadway and West End musical is coming to Belgium for the very first time, as announced by InTeam Producties. They have previously produced Little Shop of Horrors, Kinky Boots, and, most recently, The Boys in the Band.
The musical follows the story of Evan Hansen, who has broken his arm after falling out of a tree. Is he telling the truth, or is there more going on? The story explores themes such as social media, mental health, suicide, loneliness, and the power of connection, topics that remain incredibly important today.
Cast & Creatives
The show will be performed in Dutch, with translations by Bas Bossaerts and Ot Beersaerts. This is a unique production, as the show is based purely on talent rather than "star casting."
The show will open on 6 September 2026, in the ‘Rode Zaal’ at the Fakkeltheater in Antwerp. The cast includes Daan Keisse (14-18, Lichtgevoelig, Next To Normal), who will play the role of Evan Hansen, Joppe Dekoker (Lelies, Kinky Boots, Little Shop of Horrors & The Boys In The Band) as Connor Murphy, and Charlotte Suijs (The Sound of Music & Spring Awakening) as Zoe Murphy. Joke Van Robbroeck (Mamma Mia!, Rubens, Priscilla Queen of the Desert & Kinky Boots) will play Heidi Hansen, while Mira Delbaen takes on the role of Cynthia Murphy and Pieter Klinck (Les Misérables, Ben X & 14-18) plays Larry Murphy. Rounding out the team are Coraima Gonzalez Garcia as Alana Beck, Keoni Blockx (1830, Groeten uit Balen & the UK touring production of Les Misérables) as Jared Kleinman, and Pieter-Jan Hoessels (Spring Awakening) as ensemble.
Dates & Tickets
The show will play for a limited five-week run from 4 September to 4 October in Antwerp. Due to popular demand, extra shows have already been added to the schedule.
